Hi everyone, it’s so good to connect on this amazing forum. For my first post on the Electrics topic I thought I’d ask… and you can just wink or nod if you don’t want to give too much away… but I’m oh so curious if Rod Serling’s Ventura is still out there somewhere. It’s likely the most seen-on-tv watch in history, and it’s certainly the reason I chose an original finish silver dial Ventura to start off my Electrics collection a few years back (assuming that my addition of that second watch kicked off the “collection” … my first Electric was a black dial Pacer).
The attached photo shows my silver dial Ventura with the correct second gen brown calf skin strap, which I believe is the same as you see in some detail in Rod Serling’s press photos from the early sixties. He really seemed to love that watch—his wrist is always turned to camera!

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum.
Wow, wouldn't that be something? To own Serling's Ventura? I have never heard of it being around. We've seen a few Elvis ones and LBJ's Pacer, though:

Very nice Ventura you've got there, and I heartily applaud your compulsion to complete the watch with box and band as I am notoriously guilty of the same drive.

Re: Rod Serling’s Ventura
Appreciate the kind welcome!
I didn’t expect my post would necessarily turn up the Serling Ventura, but I do wonder if sometime in the nearish future it may actually present itself… my understanding is the Serlings are a close family that cherish Rod’s legacy, so it’s very likely safely with them. But with the Rod Serling foundation’s dedication to social justice and an interest in raising funds to support that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come up for auction at some point. It’s wonderful to think there are such things still to be discovered.

And yep, compulsion is a good word for it. Don’t these watches deserve the royal treatment? I love seeing the intended vision fully realized, in my hand!Very nice Ventura you've got there, and I heartily applaud your compulsion to complete the watch with box and band as I am notoriously guilty of the same drive.
