Updating this thread with a photo of the custom-inserts Pacer bracelet I just completed for my faux wood Pacer.

I'm thrilled that I was able to source veneer that was so close to the dial's color and grain. Pretty darned pleased with myself. :P
Awesome!

(What was Mark saying about you being super creative....?)
I know how to pick them. I will stay on as a moderator and still be here, but don't have time to help with all the questions about the site.

That's impressive. It really does look like it could be original.
Thanks, Guys! I think Jim (Just One More) would be proud of me. I was thinking of him while I was working on the bracelet.

BTW, the upstanding gent who created this faux wood dial many years ago was a passionate collector who was concerned that someone might one day mistake this for the real thing, so he very conscientiously stamped the back of the dial with "repro" (or something similar — I can't remember! LOL). Now I think I may need to do that with the bracelet!

I am extremely jealous. I think I'm just going to toss my my Hamiltons into a box now and put it on the curb.

It's a good idea. I used to have reproductions of a very hard to find guitar amp knobs made. The way you could tell original amps from repros was by the knobs, because there was no source for the original style until I started producing them. I had no doubt that somebody(s) would start putting them on repro amps and try passing them off as originals. I bought a steel "R" stamp that I'd heat up and impress deeply into the back of the knobs. I've seen guitars that I knew to be conversions from less valuable to more valuable models being passed off as originals even though I knew the guys who did the conversion were honest when they sold them. Stuff like this sooner or later winds up in the hands of somebody who can't resist the temptation.

I was actually pretty impressed that he had the foresight to mark it, so hat's off to him.

2021 Pacer collection update:

At this point, I think I am collecting the bracelets, not the watch!

(Other Pacers in the collection but not included in this shot: Hotpoint Atomic Pacer, custom white rhodium Pacer, custom wood dial Pacer, and I am working on a custom diamond dial Pacer. . . .)

Congratulations! have you noticed the variations in the pins on the back of the bracelets, some narrower?

I have one of those that is looking for a home.. I will email you an image, maybe you need it parts.

You win the prize for persistence and presentation!

Susan, the one with the Hamilton Crest on the dial, is there a name on the back?
