Today I got out an old favorite, an Elgin likely from around 1930, but whose model number has yet to be discovered (if indeed it ever had one):

An Elgin for me, too, on Sunday, an Model 175 in white gold with hammered bezel:

The black dial may not have been original, but it works well with the white case.

Randy, I’m envious of you!
I would wear that or look at it everyday!

Beautiful Pacermatic, Randy! And I love that Gruen, eclecticfunk -- what a great way to start the week!
Re: WRUW 5-8 through 5-14 2022
This display from the early 1930s that I found kind of interesting was posted on the Gruen forum. One of the signs reads "From Paris came the inspiration for this Stone-Margulis presentation. Black Dials. Fashion's newest decree in watch styling. A new black dial can be made for your own watch at a very moderate price. Consult our watch specialist." So, evidently black dials were in the zeitgeist around the time that Elgin was made. Original or not, it is a look that was of the time.
Real men wear small watches.

Love all of those; this 1964 Cotton Bowl Omega (Texas’ first NC) can’t compare, but it’s what I’m wearing today…
