For Sunday's wristwear I picked a "Winslow" (1935):

To stay with Hamiltons for today, I've been wearing my father's "Emerson" lately:

1944 Cotton Bowl Bulova War Ace.
The fun thing about my collection is that I pick up the watches from the bowl games Texas played in, and not necessarily to suit my tastes. That way, I end up with beautiful watches like this, that I never would have picked out, but yet really grow on me.

Tan at VintageHamilton.com did a great job restoring this (it was a mess before he got it). I’m amazed at how white the numbers still are (they remind me of the numbers on the 49ers jerseys). The chocolate dial with the (solid) rose gold really works. I have seen this dial describes as Art Deco; I’m not sure about that, but it says something about Bulova that they were putting wild dials like this on one of their more expensive watches.

Those numbers look like they would glow in the dark, even though not luminous. Makes for a very readable dial.
I've always liked the look of a chocolate dial paired with rose gold case; best combination with rose gold in my opinion.
Too bad Hamilton never used this, to my knowledge.

For Friday the 56' Cross Country, Illinois movement, with the original Kreisler bracelet. I have the black insert I like the brown.

I finally got a Piping Rock. 1929 yellow gold that I bought on ebay. The pictures were not very good, but I took a chance and was the only bidder. It turned out better than I expected.
