I just determined that this one is a Dateline T-675.taxman150 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 9:06 amI have several "unknowns" in my Hamilton collection that I would appreciate help on from the experts here so thank you in advance. Some are "known unknowns" , some are late 60s uncatalogued models while others are probably 70s models that aren't captured in available catalogs. Here is the first "unknown" from my collection - an unknown Dateline Thinomatic. I have two.

Found this beauty at a local thrift store. Seems to be an original but I'm not sure. Any information would be appreciated.

No it doesn't
Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
I'm guessing it's what called a Jewlers case. Not made by Hamilton but made by Jewler and used a Hamilton movement and dial.
Here is sample of a brochure that is exactly what I explained above. Read bottom of brochure.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Hi all, I need some help please. A european seller has this object out for sale and it looks to me as a Piping Rock but he say its in steel?! So I wonder, is it a Piping Rock at and if so, was they made in steel at all? White and yellow gold I know of but not in steel. It messaures 29,5mm, no pics from the inside. Whats the value aprox in this condition?
Kind regards from Stockholm, Sweden.

Easy to tell - ask the seller to pop off the watch's case back and send you a pic of what it says inside.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Yes, I have asked two days ago but no answer yet.
Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Certainly the crown appears to be a different metal than the case.
Crown is probably stainless, but the case *seems* to have the patina that white gold acquires with age.
Both hinges shows a need for repair.
All that said, it doesn't mean anything without a view inside to confirm 'Hamilton' case and 'Hamilton' movement.
Or perhaps seller did pop it open and realizes it is gold!
Out of curiosity what was his asking price?

Yes agree regarding the crown and still need to see the inside of course. He is asking for 650$.
Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Sounds to me like your seller is unfamiliar with the model and after quick (and bad!) Googling has this original Piping Rock confused with one of the quartz reissues from the 1990s, which are often listed as stainless steel, even though they usually had plated cases with stainless backs. See this listing, for instance:Sebastian Flyte wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 10:04 amHi all, I need some help please. If they are selling an original Piping Rock as steel, you may have found a real bargain!

The watch you showed looks like a 14K model, not stainless.
The hands look Mt Vernon hands. Easy fix. The dial needs some help, but other than that, looks good.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here. Ok
Thanks to you all for your input and clarification of things, I’ll try to get in contact with the seller again but he seems be gone for the moment. I’ll keep you posted about whats happening. For an amateur far away from the big market for Hamiltons, does $ 650 sound reasonable?

Hi all, no luck for me trying to get in contact with the seller, I guess he discovered what he got and decided to do something else with it. Ill get back if something new happens. Thanks for all the help and feed-back, hopefully I’ll find another nice piece out there.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Can anyone tell me the model of this watch, when it was made, and if it has good value to it? the dedication on the back says it was given to the person in 1980

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Looks like a Kendall or Brandon, but according to this, was only in stainless. I found this in an 80's catalog.
Your band is obviously different, not 100 % of the name, but this was close.

Re: Post Your Mystery Hamiltons Here.
Wow! First off I want to thank you for finding it so quickly.. Next do you think I got a good deal on this watch? considering how expensive Hamilton watches seem to be, I managed to grab this for $65

I would not know, it's not in my area of collecting.

Ah well at least it’s probably an actual Hamilton and I can be proud of that, thank you
