Re: Forgot I even had this.
A clients asked if I had a Carlisle for sale, when I looked, I forgot I had two of these. The dials were obtained form Dr. T, a long time Hamilton collector from whom I bought a vast amout of his collection, and in it was these special made Carlisle dials with the tracks and no holes for AGN numera...

Re: Purchased a family heirloom from this forum.
Norm, how did you two find each other? Susan, 3aremine saw this older post in the Hamilton Watch Forum called "engraving photos" put up by MPassarro (great thread Mark!), please feel free to insert it here as i don't know how to do that. You have to start at the very beginning of the post, at some ...

Re: Purchased a family heirloom from this forum.
Parker (3aremine), I hope you don't mind if I post a few photos of your great grandfather's watch (I thought that perhaps you didn't know how to). It is about as pristine as they get!! This one is a solid white gold Square Plain circa 1925 (dial was refinished by ID). As I had said to you in one of ...

Re: been holding out on showing this example (lots of pics)
This is sort of topic related... what is the roman numeral for zero? I looked at the bezel originally and since you can't see the bottom of the scratches I saw an IV II V and something. It could be III II II and something, depending on if the V's are really two I's. My experience in the past for Ha...

Norm, I believe the two-tone conversation was about the case, not the dial.

Re: been holding out on showing this example (lots of pics)
Back to the original example. Did anyone else notice that the Roman numerals inside the bezel also do not match either the center or the back? Does everyone else read it as 3222? I did notice it but I chose not to say anything, but since you brought it up, those numbers on the bezel correctly read ...

Re: been holding out on showing this example (lots of pics)
I don't think that will necessarily be definitive — the solid gold vs the gold-fill version? They likely will have different tones, even if both green or yellow, as I understand it. . . . P.S. The highlighted areas in the pics look green to me, just to add to the confusion. Susan, I agree wit...
