Re: Donavan With Cord Band

VERY Nice Find! I thought I'd posted my pic before but it appears to have been on another site and, further, to have been archived from there. Soooo, given that VWF remains the world's preeminent vintage watch forum, I'll repost here: http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab190/wardward1/Hamiltons/f9b...

Re: Correct original dial for Hamilton Roger?

Greetings, All! The Roger's a rare bird, indeed -exciting to see another one! I've had the privilege of owning a couple over the years and have seen a very few others. Based on my observations, I'd like to offer the following dial and movement analysis... I think the one pictured by Coronado is corr...

Re: Tiffany fakes

Just to clarify and/or add fuel to the discussion/fire... -all 3 known examples of the watch Randy references (the 'Model B Tiffany' for lack of a better name) have Tiffany-signed dials in Hamilton-but-not-Tiffany-signed cases -there are no known examples of this model with Hamilton-signed dials -th...

Re: Advice for a new collector

Welcome to the forum! An interesting question posed beyond "when to redial?" or "when to repair a case?" might be "why does one collect what one collects?" Do you collect for investment/profit? Do you collect based on historical interest? Do you collect based on style/design aspects? Answering these...

Re: Un-cataloged Hamilton 14K Tiffany

You know I'm just giving you a hard time! :) And, besides, what would you do with that extra 4-5k but blow it on even more watches?! :o So what's your theory on this model? Some observations... -Mine has a May '42 presentation engraving while this one has undated initials in the same precise style. ...

Re: Un-cataloged Hamilton 14K Tiffany

Mine has a 982. This is also the 3rd I'm aware of -all 3 have Tiffany dials & Hamilton cases which is the only consistent example I'm aware of that runs contrary to the generally-accepted observation that 'real' Tiffany Hamiltons (at least within the 982 and 770 lines) have Tiffany-signed cases. The...
