Re: Duncan 14K
In all the years I bought, sold, and restored Hamilton watches I never even saw one in the flesh. Definitely a rarity!

Re: Ever wonder what Lady Hamilton looked like?
That's certainly interesting. I'd never heard of Hamilton actually using a person to represent the product line. Here's a different Hamilton beauty, working on the production line. I suspect there was a reason that the photographer chose her to represent the job, and not Dick Slaugh (head watchmaker...

Re: A great watch from the prototype dept.
That is an absolutely breathtaking find. Wow!! I wish I'd had pictures of that when I wrote an article about the case and dial photo-etching project for The Bulletin several years back. I'm pretty sure I illustrated the sign showing that very dial.

Yikes -- that's news to me! I don't even remember the interview, though that's because I answer so many questions I can't keep them all straight.
Thanks for the post!

Re: what is Hamilton's 11/16 lug width? (not as easy as you think)
Over the years I've handled literally thousands of Hamiltons with 11/16" lugs (the vast majority of Electrics were that size). I've used 17mm, 17.5mm, and 18mm straps for these. But in any event, these would never have passed a pressure test even when new. They were not made or marketed to be waterproof, just "se...
