WRUW 6/24 through 7/1/2018?

#1 Post by Magpie » Sun Jun 24, 2018 10:18 am

My Gruen "Cartouche 371," which I hadn't worn in quite a while, had been begging for some wrist time, so it went to church this morning:

mrtoad: Beautiful! I hope there is one of those in my Futura!!

Today, an unknown (to me) Elgin with original bracelet and case. If someone knows model information, I would appreciate it.

Mr. Funk. Yours is a 17 jewel from 1953. I found it in a book. Funny, because I used to have this same watch. It’s on the left.

Today I wore an older Elgin Curvex styled watch from the 30’s.

Thank you for helping me identify this one. This means it is WGF, not stainless. There are 2 types of watches I like: Understated elegance and you've plum lost your mind 70s funk! This watch certainly exemplifies the case of "understated elegance" on the wrist. I have its original display case.

By the way, I love the curvature and art deco look of your elgin! It looks really sharp on your wrist.

For Tuesday:

1959 Hamilton Thin-o-Matic T-501, Star Case and Flex-Let bracelet.

This case came to me with a 502 dial in it and confused me. Once I realized my original T-501 was in a T-500 case I got everybody where they were supposed to go! :D

This would a correct photo for the library...
