Lol. Can't wait to see those rarities, GJH! Can we get a sample of what's to come? Even though you post a beauty frequently. Awesome Ritz watch!

Now, now, don't be tempting Greg to "scoop" Fred -- that's forbidden!!! (BTW, although Greg has turned up a bunch of rarities, other contributors have too. There will doubtless be plenty to see on the Illinois Forum in due course, but meanwhile our lips must remain sealed -- and the wait is killing us!)

The books are on a slow boat from China. But when the wait is over and they've arrived, maybe the weight will be killing us instead. In case you haven't noticed in Fred's pictures of his advance copy, this beast weighs 24.5 pounds. That's a lot of Illinois data, and there's a lot in there that's going to change what people think about Illinois, Hamilton, and the U.S. horological industry in general.

It will take a lot more than 24.5 lbs of anything to change the way I feel about one simple fact. The names Hamilton, Elgin, Bulova and Illinois are owned by the swiss horological industry. Joel

This is the only thing Fred would let me post...

Fred with copy #001 flown in to look at by the author.
The rest are coming via ship, soon enough.

Rumor has it that you and MrToad have some cool surprises to show when the book
