Timex Southampton Inspired Todd Snyder Beekman

#1 Post by kma2018 » Thu Aug 16, 2018 7:56 am

Anyone see the new Timex Todd Snyder collaboration? They call it the Beekman. It's a quartz timepiece inspired by the Timex Southampton and includes its iconic spiral tachymeter and outer dial telemeter scales. It comes in a white and a black dial version like the original (although I think that the original white dial was more of a cream color). Too bad there's no fly-back chronograph though, and it's a 40mm case which IMO takes away some of the vintage aesthetic. I also wish it were mechanical rather than quartz. Still, it's very cool that they keep mining the Timex archives to produce these vintage-inspired beauties.

If you want to check out the originals, another forum member (thanks, JerseyMo) gave us a peek at his Timex Southamptons a while back: viewtopic.php?t=10231

Update: I found this other photo of the "white dial" version on the Todd Snyder site. It looks like they actually nailed the original dial color.

I think it maybe time for me to let go of the two I have. :)
