Timex Mil-W-46374 Rarest Prototype in Collection

#1 Post by JerseyMo » Sat Jun 23, 2018 8:40 am

Lately I have shifted my restoring to the mechanical "Camper" series that Timex produced in the 1980's. These are the civilian version of the military watches they were working off and on since the 1960's.
This reminded me of one of the "I'll get around to it projects" I have been pushing off. So today I worked on bringing this one back to life. Absolutes the rarest Timex product I have ever had or seen.
The white case mil-spec. The best reason I can think of why the case is white is because it is among the very early case designs being considered and Timex had not yet worked on the case coloring.
Or, they knew one day it would find its way to my collection!

As a side note, Timex never did go full production with their military line of watches. But, they did use the styling and engineering to produce the Fun Timer and Camper series ( last pic are some samples)
