very interesting and filled with some great facts about the factories and what they did.
I have some of those oilers mentioned in the 1958 article. :)

My favorite Timex advertisement, from 1952. Nice illustration of the v-conic escapement.

I recall posting threads on the "Coronet" model from the now defunct Vintage Timex Forum on Network54.
This ad has a great example of one along side a "Petite" in the lower left corner. So what would make this picture even better?

Well how about this picture from my collection? Yes all three run "dead nuts on time" - shout out to Paul H. for the quote and of course Bill D. to whom I owe much for US Time and Timex history.

Perfect!

I got a kick out of those newspaper articles, especially the one from 1953. Even if they were "engineering tests" , the described tests did end up in period advertisements. I have some of them, but don't have scans. Those articles look like they might be the fruits of the labors of a good PR person! But the tests were real, as far as I know.

Well I'll reveal a little project I've been working on for over a year now... A pre-1960 Timex advertisement and article gallery... Here's a quick screenshot of one of the newspaper ad folders I have at the moment, and yes those are all Timex ads. I have literally hundreds of newspaper and magazine ads as well as general merchandise wholesaler catalog scans etc... ;)

I will be putting these all onto a website for you guys to browse through eventually.
And why just pre-1960? Because there is enough material out there for the early 60s and on for Timex identification and they pretty much developed their model numbers and solidified their routine by then. The amount of newspaper matches for the word "Timex" jumps to almost quadruple in 1960.
I also stopped at 1959 because it's taken me an insanely long time to get to this point and I would like to move on to other projects and also maintain a social life haha! This was originally just me collecting random ads and stuff for my own viewing but the archive has gotten so big, it's hard to not to want to share it. You guys will be the first to know when I have it all up. Believe me, I am working hard to get all of this organized and viewable for you!

The Network54 guys would have really enjoyed this level of detailed information. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic!

I don't know if you've browsed through the little stash of catalogs and ads that I have, you can find it here in the catalog and advertisements folder -

I have more magazine ads, but I don't have them all scanned yet. I'll shout if I add any!
