Timex Electric Model 67 - Completed Collection

#1 Post by JerseyMo » Mon Apr 17, 2017 4:26 pm

An early goal of mine this year was to complete my collection of the original Timex Electric Model 67 series. The model 67 movement came with the purchase of the West German based Laco Watch Company. Starting in 1962, and only sold for one year, there were 3 available models of the watch. Two of these came in what Timex refers to as yellow cased and one in chrome plate.
For 1963 Timex introduced 3 new dials which also came in either yellow or chrome. These however were made up until 1965 and this year Timex also rolled out the newly designed model 84.
So both the 67 and 84 overlapped in 1965.

In the first picture are the original "6" dials in their respective cases. One of which is yes, an extremely rare exhibition back clear plastic case. This was in a lot of watches I bought that came from the estate of man named Fred Symthe. Fred worked in the QA department at Timex and specialized in the electric movements. Having some of his factory watches was certainly one of the reasons I chose to complete the collection.

Next I think I may go after all of the 87 series since I have 75% of them anyway. Of course this would make me finally have to go and buy the 14K "Dorado". I have always been reluctant to purchase it simply because the dial is rather plain looking.

here they are: -

Congrats. It must be an amazing feeling to complete a set of rarities like that. 8-)

Nicely done!

You have put history back together for time! Or should we say TIMEX! :)
