While not an endorsement, particularly of the upcoming "Ventura", I wanted to share for those that hadn't seen this yet. I do think that I may become a fan of the new chronograph despite the size. Enjoy...or heckle

I'll bite:

Good lord, who in the world do they think is going to buy that denim Ventura? Image

I really like what they have done to the Ventura, it'd a clear cut case that I would never buy one. Didn't even have to think about it. Should really send them a thank you note for making the choice so easy.

Agree, that weird see-thru other Ventura is another travesty.

Breaks my heart every year when they come out with another monstrosity. :(

Wow I really like the Intramatic 68, but not sure I would plunk down $2,200 for it.

"The Intramatic 68 features Hamilton’s H-31 automatic chronograph caliber with a 60-hour power reserve. It is limited to 1,968 units and will retail for $2,195."

I like the intramatic too but the price is a bit high (but not higher than Hamilton has been pricing lately). Those eyes are a bit too big for me but I do like the look. Might have to find an AD in New York 8-)

The eyes are a deal-breaker for me: too big, too close, and out of proportion somehow. :(

the Ventura Elvis Skeleton—an homage paying tribute to The King himself.
How macabre. I guess that's all that's left after 40 years.

On another note, the new Intramatic 68 is actually less expensive than many of the really nice vintage Hamilton Chronometers that I've seen for sale. That could make it a relative bargain if one likes the style and doesn't need the original. Plus, you can go into any Hamilton retailer and buy an new one. Finding an NOS Chronomatic is as difficult as it is expensive.

I reckon the denim Ventura will turn into one of those "only made for one year" rarities along the lines of the Regulus. Just wait, in 50 years it will be worth almost as much as you paid for it!

Judging not from a point of nostalgia, but just my own design taste, the skeleton and denim Venturas are flat-out ugly. I don't use that word very often because it takes a lot for me judge something so absolutely, but these cases make me cringe.
