Byrd on eBay

#1 Post by leibo » Fri Jan 13, 2017 5:31 pm

I was following this auction - I was hoping to see some commentary here, but it seems no one has posted about it?

From what I could see from prior postings on the forum, it looks to be correct with a more scarce enamel dial?

Wowsers. Pretty watch but why is it so expensive? What makes this model so pricy? Rarity, condition???

Only 331 produced in white gold and a bargain compared to the other two I have prices for. $7000 & $5656

I think the fact that the listing had no photos of the movement had something to do with the price. Although, the seller said he had them to send if requested. Like Tom said, very rare. I'm sure that folks on this forum were watching that listing, maybe even bidding hence the potential for the silence...

Not against any site rules or anything, but our practice has been that we normally don't discuss listings until they're over. No need to alert potential competition. ;)

It went cheap. The other white Byrd that was listed a month ago or so sold for $7,500.

I thought this one would go up there too, it was a nice snag for someone.
