1971 Hamilton Electronic 6002??

#1 Post by Squash61 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 11:22 am

I think this is a 6002 from 1971. It’s yellow gold filled and the one pictured (I think it’s yours Todd) is listed as Stainless. I know the information on 1970s Hamiltons are a bit sketchy but I understand from the catalogs and price lists that I’ve seen, that early Electronics (with just numbers as names) followed the format of; 2000s-solid gold, 5000s Stainless Steel and 6000s gold filled and electroplated. Comments?

Just to clarify, here is the one in the master photo list.

Looks like the 1971 6002 to me - agree that models starting with '6' were the gold toned cases

The model shown in the 1972 catalog as the 6002 shows as the 6008 in the 1971 catalog
The model shown in the 1973 catalog as the 6002 is different from both - it has the roman numerals

The master thread photo may be a variation or that dial / movement was put in a SS case - since we're missing a year or so of the 1970s, probably just don't have the catalog showing the SS version of that watch

Great example!

Just my thoughts..

Thanks Todd. Good info. I appreciate it.
Here are a couple pages from a 1971 and 1972 dealer’s price list.
