Mr. Hurt,

It is good to see you here! I am still kicking myself for not buying this from you a year or 2 ago! I wish that I had acted faster the other day after we communicated about this watch, but Sean beat me to it! (I also wish that I had remembered you telling me that the tracks and words/numbers were raised.) I presume that these were not raised as much as the vast majority of this dial was etched lower, much like a few of the etched Illinois dials of the same time frame. (My sans-6 Rockcliffe comes to mind.) Perhaps the HAMILTON name was larger to allow for this method to be used? I look forward to seeing a photo from Sean of the reverse of this dial. But whether it is original or just old, it is still very cool! And I still wish I had got it!! ;)

Regards,

Rick

It arrived today so I'm wearing it for a while tonight. Then tomorrow it's off to sunny California for a grease and oil change. I'll beg Rene's indulgence and ask him to photo all of the necessary details for the delectation of the audience.

Cool looking no matter what. It's like my blind man's watch, not original, but cool looking.

I'd love to learn why that is not original!?

Looks legit to me, but I can't say 100%. If you look at sub-seconds track and outer tracks, that's no easy thing to make for just a Hammy. It reminds me oh the other etched dials. I'm sure this blue print will show up one day.

Rick, my blind mans Tonneau was for sure a remade dial, no idea if it was a custom by Hamilton, or by a jeweler, but for sure a on off deal.
