It is possible to cancel bids and end an item depending on time left.
See full details here : - http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/end_ear ... quirements
Mo, you will need to read those conditions — the ones that determine the conditions with under 12 hours left — more carefully. This conversation was initially about incurring fees on auctions that were cancelled with bids, with the item then being sold as a BIN. If less than 12 hours to auction end, you can only end an auction with bids by selling to highest bidder IN THAT AUCTION. Otherwise, you cannot end an auction with bids that close to end AT ALL, fees or not. The link you provided outlines these restrictions.

IS&T folk don't like to read documentation :) we just write it to confuse end users.

The eBay folks must be masters, because the policy could not be more confusing!

Dear eBay Seller:

You have just achieved, for me, what is a Personal Best for packaging. You have outdone the Styrofoam Meat Tray Guy and the Diaper Guy. (They both would have given you a run for the money had I not managed to convince myself in both instances that the packing was not used.)

Your use of a USED ace bandage was inventive, if nothing else:

How did I know it was used? Well, as I gingerly unfurled it, the dirt and (likely) dead skin was readily evident:

And what lowly junker of a value-less watch could have merited such a skeevy treatment? Perhaps a non-running Quartz? A one-jewel-wonder? Nope. . . .

So in conclusion, Dear Seller, thanks for the. . .ummm. . . .unique experience. I need to go sanitize again now. . . .

Best,

Susan

Gabe, that is hysterical!

Confession: I put on sterile latex gloves before I unwrapped that thing — seriously!

it gets better - if you try to contact the seller you get this response from EBay -

We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing.

WTF!!!!! and they recently canceled one of my listing because they said it was in the wrong category... yeah WTF>>>>>

no but they allow some one to post this?

Dear EBay sellers,
Please don't use clear tape on bubble wrap, it is extremely difficult to see where to cut and makes it necessary to cut open the wrap in places that could damage the watch, or let it fall open.
