Dear Ebay Seller's - it does not cost $65 to ship a 100g watch from the US to the UK.

Average price for me is about $15-20, by ebay GSP.

Dear eBay Seller...

Please don't post 12 photos of the front of the watch, just varying the distance slightly. How about a picture of the back or possibly the movement if you can get to it easily. Seriously... 12 straight-on photos of the front???!

Dear ebay Sellers

When listing a Hamilton timepiece please do not waste your time by stating, "Marked Hamilton five times".

Noone cares.
I do not even know what the marked thing means-are those the scratches inside the case back?

Nope. It's just how many times the logo and/or brand appears on or in the watch. So, usually the dial, crown, inside and/or outside case back and the movement.

Dear eBay sellers,

This is not art deco!

It's also not worth that much, for that matter.

Dear EBay sellers, you've taken the movement and dial out of the case to get a picture of the movement, now turn the movement over and get us a picture of the dial that we couldn't see through the scratched up crystal., and for God's sake nobody cares if the cheap replacement band says "Genuine Leather"!

Dear ebay sellers:
Starring an auction for a watch at £7.71 ($9.99) does not make me immediately want to buy the watch thinking wow the starring price is UNDER $10.

Unless you are clinically brain dead, it doesn't work in the shops, and it sure as hell doesn't work on the swamp. If it's worth it, we will bid, if it isn't we won't! Simples.

Wearing a pair of clean white gloves in your photo (as you hold the $50 broken watch
that looks like you pulled it out of a drawer) is NOT going to
make me think the watch is worth the $3000 asking price.

And PLEASE STOP taking photos of you holding up the watch by a
lug with a pair of fancy looking dental pliers...
All I can think of is how much you are scratching the crap out of it
as you giggle it for the photos.

And if you haven't put a movement shot up yet, it is VERY clear that you DON'T
know how to open a watch...
I love when a seller "ADDS" photos to the listing (because someone asked for them)
and you can see the new GASH in the case where they pried it open with a butter knife...
(Always fun when it was a screwback case)

For sure. Sometimes these uninformative and bad photos hide real bargains. My little collection has grown faster than expected because several watches I bought for practice very cheaply ($20) because of bad photos, turned out to be in good enough condition to restore. I think sometimes the seller does not know what they have. The best one was a watch, said to be not running, with a photo so out of focus i thought it was an Essex but it might haven been one of the other models with that sort of lug. Turned out to be a YGF Wilshire with case in near perfect condition, no brassing to be seen without a 20X loupe and no wear to the rivets. This "not-running" watch ran for 45 hours on full wind and gained about a minute a day. Maybe the seller thought it needed a battery. The dial did need refinishing. It's in the queue.
