I was wondering if your Biggs Barbizon had the bee logo and went back and checked your photo of the case back...It's a Jonell!

Interesting that they didn't always manufacture the cases they designed.

Nice ad...and yes! Absolutely! I'd love to find one under my tree!

Yea, I can't figure it out either. Watch case is made by Jonell, but the advertisement from an old Hamilton record says, designed by Biggs? Biggs was owned by Hamilton, so maybe they designed it and had Jonell make it? But that still makes no sense to me either. Still researching.......

My thought was Biggs may not have been set up for manufacture of the larger case, hence the outsourcing to Jonell.

Could be they wanted production to meet with the advertising and couldn't pull it off themselves?

Did Biggs make many men's cases?

I have a few Biggs cases. Mostly 50's or 60's.

It's an interesting research. When I bought the watch, I was told he was a male model. So I sent the photo to auction company and asked for the back story and if that person in the ad, is indeed the person who owned the watch. Will let you know once I know.
