There are some very intesting points in that article.
We bail out the banks and General motors but not much to save the watch industry.

Well different times. Our banks have not left us, nor have the car makers. They are still alive and well with some bumps in the road. Most the major banks paid the TARP money back, JP Morgan did two wire transfers within months of the loans as they did not want to be tied to the governments demands, and I think BA and Wells followed suit. As far as the car companies, all the GM bond holders got wiped out, so that wasn't the best for the people that held it together, but the pensions were saved and that just shows you how political this stuff gets. It seemed that all watch manufactures went overseas as there were better quality there. Hamilton opened up a swiss division, so they lasted. Everything cycles, it's like the PC, it will be basically dead in 10 years, as smart phones and Ipads will take over.
