Well, let's put this argument to rest.

I purchased about 4 feet of Hamilton information last summer. Bryan was in town and I told him about it. Here is something he found,
that he got very excite over.

Case Closed, there never was a lawsuit over the Otis, they had permission. Scanned Original Document.

My Otis, called a bastard for 50 years, has found his birth certificate. Time to celebrate.

This is just one little tease of what Mark bought. There is some other great info in these files.

I thought it worth mentioning that the 'royalty' that was paid by Hamilton, as spelled out in the note of 60¢ per case, is not too far off from CHF2.50 in terms of 1938's exchange rate.

Curious to see what else is in the paperwork.

That is the most exciting find in Hamilton's historic record in years!! I love it. I can't wait to see what other treasures come to light from that stash.

Mark,

really exciting new insights!

Interesting also: the initial name idea was “DUO-PLEX” (page 4 of the letter to S&W) – no idea, why they dropped this name, but it was a good decision, for my opinion.

Regards

Martin
