That Hilton is super cool. I spent some time tracking them but never found one as nice as the one you have there.

Susan,

Is that dial original or a refinish?

Thanks, Guys. These triangle (or "missile", as they were branded) watches do usually show a lot of wear and it took a few stabs before I landed this nice one.

This is an original dial — they are rather scarce in black.

Be careful when hunting these: there is a woman's version that is exactly the same, but smaller, and it's hard to tell the difference.

Trust me, I know. :?

Very nice Susan. The watch pictured on top of the ad looks pretty cool.

The lot arrived today. The Lucerne is the men's size and the Hilton is the ladies size. Both are in pretty nice condition.

The Elgin ended up being 2 tone, which was a nice surprise.

I was mostly interested in the spider-web, so the rest should flip well.

I ended up getting the lot for $125.-

Here's one I just got that's been on my list for a while. 1961 Longines Flagship Automatic date at 12 o'clock. Only made one year. Came in SS or 18K. I wanted the SS.
Nice size 35mm case. Beautiful Longines 341 eccentric automatic movement.
And the gold and enamel emblem on the back of a 3 mast Argosy ship.
If anyone has a NOS crystal for this model (with the magnifier at 12) let me know.

This photo really makes it abundantly clear that I need to replace that non-original crown. :P

Elgin De Luxe, case 5705 from the 1942 catalogue. It has a 10k gold filled case with a matching gold dial. Runs the 17 jewel, 555 movement. I'm trying to get all the De Luxe models from the page below (I have 6 right now), but this guy comes in 3 variants  Arggh. There is a rose gold case with a rose gold dial and a white gold case with a black dial.

But anyway, it is in very nice shape and I'm happy to have found it.

Actually the white case has grey dial but you're just starting. There's a arabic numeral RGN variant in the 1951 catalog and an black enamel arabic numeral dial that has a rose color. Joel

Awesome looking incoming watches.

Mine, I cobbled together a 1960 Gruen 552RRS with NOS case, a supburb clean original dial and serviced movement this month. Need only to find the crown.

I particularily like the textured linen dial. I also have a GF version.

Here's a new addition for the photo library - a 1963 Accumatic A-450. Runs a 689 with 17mm lugs.

That A-450 is a great looking watch. I really like that numeral font.

Hamilton Yorktowne mid-stream this month. Check out the before/after dial clean-up - removed a lot but it may still need a redial.

Lord Elgin Randal. Far from perfect, but I like it, so it stays : ) And I really have developed a thing for black dials. I absolutely hate them on modern watches. Doesn't seem to matter how much they use AR, they are always reflections. Vintage watches don't seem to have as much of an issue with it.
