Another recent acquisition, a 1948 Gruen Veri-Thin. I had to have this one with the butler dial since I have the same with a black dial.

Today I will be bequeathing my wrist shot to a United States Air Force Airman doing low-crawls through an obstacle course at Camp Blanding Florida to prepare for Army Assault School.

The Department of Defence posted this pic on their webpage yesterday.

This Airman and his G-Shock are working pretty hard!

Cool looking bass, Tank - you play professionally or for fun?
Black dialed watch nice also...

Leonidas "Easy Rider" chrono for Friday
EB 8420 movement (not the greatest in the world, but this one runs well)
This watch made in different styles and under various names (SEARS Chronograph, Jacky Ickx Model, etc.)
PVC (another high-tech name for plastic ;) ) case
Tropic strap

Too many great watches to individually name them all! Hey Stan, just think that in 1917 they were probably doing the same things wearing a an Elgin in the trenches. Wonder how well they held up against the water and mud?

Finally got this cleaned up. My guess is this Lord Elgin is from 62-64. Has the machined bezel (Florentine motif), a matching JB Champion bracelet, and a cream sunray dial. It has the case number 2258, but I don't have a name for it yet. The watch is 10k white gold filled. It uses the 23, 775 movement.

Update: Diveboy tells me it is the Esquire and it sold for $71.50. What doesn't he know?! :D
