WRUW 11/5/2017 thru 11/11/2017

#1 Post by GreenBayStamps » Sun Nov 05, 2017 6:42 am

For Sunday the newly arrived "one year wonder" the Automatic K-418 667 movement with a nice dedication on the back.

When I purchased it the dial looked clean on eBay, I was amazed, upon it's arrival, the whole was pristine, almost without a flaw. Ironically the original bracelet was with it and shot be beyond belief.

How does a watch look like it never made it out of the box and the bracelet is trash? :?

The watch is nearly perfect and looks great IMHO with the integrated Kreisler bracelet.

For Monday the 1954 K-400 "cld" made for only one year. I added a nice two-tone, time period correct after market calfskin band.

On of my favorites, 1954 was the first year of automatics for Hamilton. For one year Hamilton contracted with Eterna for their cutting edge five ball bearing automatic movement. There appeared only three watches all of them cld's the K-200, K-300 and this K-400. Wish I new more of the story why they went away from them.
