Does anyone buy movement bulk lots?

#1 Post by Gabe » Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:17 pm

I saw my watch guy today and he asked if anyone buys bulk lots of movements. This is not something that I would know.

He's looking to offload ~5000 movements with dials in 100-movement lots, most of them from the 30's to 50's.

I did check eBay and saw one seller who carries bulk lots of watches, not movements, with many of them being fairly modern.

Being as old as these are, I guess these would be a treasure trove for anyone needing parts.

I saw the usual suspects (i.e., Bulova, Gruens, etc.), and both ladies and men's watch movements with dials, no cases.

I do. I tend to avoid the ladies movements as I rarely do any of them and I just wind up reselling them for practically nothing.
He may be better off sorting them into lots of different brands to sell them.
