Refurbishment

#1 Post by jkjoller » Mon Feb 05, 2018 1:11 pm

Hello-
I posted this under mysterious watch id but wanted to ask a question about refurbishment.
First, I don't know what model it is.
Second, where can I get it cleaned and a new crystal?
I think it's a cool looking watch. Is it even worth getting it cleaned up and adding a new crystal (since this one is so scratched up)?

Is there anyone that can provide any info? Even the model so I can go from there?

It's a 70s model and our catalogs are incomplete for that decade.

A new crystal may be difficult to source, unless you can find an old watchmaker that may have a supply of vintage ones. Someone here may have one. You may want to try a product called Polywatch to buff the scratches out - if they are not deep. And if the case is stainless steel, fine steel wool will take care of light scratches.

This looks like one of the "export models" from the 70s

Can you provide a picture of the caseback and/or a picture of the movement?

I looked thru what I have and could not find that watch. Lice looking. Would guess it's value on Ebay working and all is around $100-150. Just a guess.
