Seiko 6139-6002 sticker bezel

#1 Post by seanman114 » Wed Oct 26, 2016 9:45 am

Hi all,
I am new to the forum and please help me for this.
I saw the attached 6139-6002 and it selling HKD$3500, I just wonder if this is all original dial and bezel? Because I just feel a bit strange from the bezel and worry thats a sticker version.
Please give me some advices.
Thanks all!

Hi!

Well, after just a quick look & I think it's legit (dial, outer bezel, hands). The bezel & dial both show wear, I think you'd be more likely to find aftermarket parts that look "pristine" rather than well worn.

But, best for you to go to some other articles in Seiko specialty forums & compare:

1. This section has some articles to help buyers review purchases:
http://www.thewatchsite.com/12-referenc ... el-guides/

specifically, this one on the model family you are contemplating:
http://www.thewatchsite.com/12-referenc ... guide.html

Using that info, I would compare the dial variant you show against the dial-codes appropriate for it. I can't read the last 1/2 of the dial-codes in your shot (written between the 4 & 5 hour markers) so I can't say if the code is appropriate for the particular dial variant. For example, note that there are JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) dial variants as well as various "International" dial variants. Yours is an International without a water-resistance indication ... there were other International dial variants that had a water-resistance indication (of various types as well).

2. This database (& forum associated with it) also has reference examples (catalog scans & other pics) & may have some articles to help as well:

http://seikoholics.yuku.com/forums/69/J ... C9JZ1fhjNE

Remember that this so-called "Pogue" model family was produced in different variants over a range of years in different markets. There are plenty of dial variations, case-style, & case-back marking variations ... as well as a few hand type variants that were legitimately used over the production run.

You need to also compare other aspects of the watch (beside the 2 items you asked about) to be sure they are all "consistent" ... after all, "Frankens" {cobbled models from different variants & different production periods} are common, in addition to examples with aftermarket parts. That takes a good bit of study & I really can't comment on it here as you do not show a case-back shot.
