Vintage buckles for ribbon straps

#1 Post by coronado » Wed Jan 27, 2016 1:48 pm

Oh happy day! Now I can assemble grosgrain straps for all the 1920s and 1930s ladies watches I've been hoarding for so long.

Awesome group.

So just how ribbon you been hoarding?

So far I've only snagged I clasp for the Agnes and one for the Premet, I've snagged a few more generic ones.

Green with envy indeed ....those old ribbon straps are my favorite ......they complement those ladies watches whether it's a pendant watch turned into a wrist watch ...or a 20s deco watch ....excellent score ! I hazza jealous......
What a long strange trip it's been......

It's funny that I happen to read this one day after I ask my watch guy if he's got any of these.

He called these seambinding snaps, and said that they were already uncommon 60 years ago. He said that when someone would try to sell these, no one really wanted them(!).

I worked in the garment industry when I was a kid and do remember seeing these.
