Hey guys!

Lightning has struck TWICE in a matter of days!

I was able to obtain not one but TWO 1917 WWI Trench Watches featuring a Fahys "Armored" Case with an INTEGRATED crystal guard!

BOTH of these watches still have the ORIGINAL Khaki straps and strap fastening hardware!

The odds of this happening are almost incalculable.

You simply never see these watches with the original Khaki straps, the original straps have always been cut off and they have been replaced with leather straps.

Scoring TWO of these integrated crystal guard cases is rare in itself even without the original Khaki straps!

I have the ability to make these straps brand new using 100% cotton (no poly-cotton blend) 16mm material, just like they did 99 years ago when the original Khaki strap is in poor condition and unusable.

The material is very hard to come by and it can only be bought at one place that I have found over the years.

But, no need to make new Khaki straps this time, the original Khaki straps are in superb condition and completely wearable after a bit of TLC.

They are both in absolutely beautiful original condition with only minimal work being done to them, mostly mechanical, barely anything cosmetic.

Some watches I will restore 100% but these are FAR more valuable in their original untouched condition.

Enjoy the pics, chances are you won't ever see a Waltham and an Elgin Trench Watch featuring a Fahys "Armored" case side by side again that have the original Khaki straps and original fasteners!

Thanks Randy!

The Khaki straps were both rather dirty and did not smell all that great when they first arrived.

So, I did some testing on another Khaki strap made by the same company that had been ripped over the years.

Wanted to test the durability of the ripped strap before I did anything to these two straps that are still on the watches.

I found that my plan to clean them was safe so I went ahead and did them both.

They were NOT scrubbed or treated harshly, very mild methods were used to remove 99 years of dirt, grime and buildup.

They turned out VERY well, you can even see that there is a color difference in the fabric now, tan and light green colors.

Below are the before and after pics of the straps.

Both of them are now completely wearable and the fabric is still in superb condition.

I say this a lot but our Great Grandfathers really make things that would last for generations!
