Bands for fixed-lug watches

#1 Post by Gabe » Wed Oct 17, 2018 11:09 am

Cross-posting here from the Illinois forum (http://www.vintagewatchforums.com/viewt ... 16&t=12429)

I see some Bund-style straps on some of the early watches in the Illinois photo thread (http://www.vintagewatchforums.com/viewt ... =16&t=2583), but I cannot seem to find a reasonably-priced source with the right thickness for my fixed-lug Illinois watch.

What do you all suggest I use?

I would love a Bund-style strap, but I would need one about 15 mm. wide, but only about 1.5 mm. thick.

Should I be looking for leather or only canvas straps for these early fixed-lug watches?

I've always used International Watchman pigskin open-ended straps for watches like this. The problem is I can't tell if they're still in business.
Real men wear small watches.
