Waltham Depollier Dive Watch "Done"!

#1 Post by slinfiniti » Sun Oct 16, 2016 4:40 am

I have been hunting for this model for years. I acquired this treasure from an obscure auction house in the UK during the spring / summer. It needed some attention to bring it back. What makes this a treasure for me is the original 14 karat yellow gold insulated disc is still with the watch. I believe this is probably a civilian model due to the lack of USA stamp on the back. The watch runs beautifully now.

This is what I did to the watch:
1) The dial and hands were sent to International Dial
2) The movement was COA and new mainspring installed, it keep amazing time for 99 years young. Production date on the movement is 1917, most like original to the watch.
3) I hand cleaned the case in mild soapy water
4) New crystal installed

I have been very fortunate over the years to find some amazing Trench Watches. This model has been on my bucket list for years. The prices stateside were prohibitive for me. I was very luck with this find, especially with all parts intact. I am seeking a new crown spring, if anyone has a source for a 99 year NOS spring PM me.
