Engraving interpretation LOL

#1 Post by LJRice » Wed Jun 08, 2016 12:59 pm

So, this watch came into my family oh... 40 years ago or so via a peculiar story. But the more I stare at it, the more the engraving confounds me. I'm certain someone can help with the initials engraved on this pretty old watch.

Also, I had the back on this watch open once several years ago, but I'm paranoid as heck of trying it again. Any good recommendations on how to open this thing up? The front latch works great, but getting in the backside scares me.

My thanks in advance!

Hinged, the Hunter style from what I understand.

Real men wear small watches.

I think it is "HH".
The little slash marks tell me those are the crossbars on the H's.

I'm glad it's not just me that has trouble decifering engravings.
