is it a snap back or screw down?

I think it screws. I don't see any tab for a snap

okay, so I guess it just does not want to turn?
A trick I learned is to run a little lube around the gap that than use a gripper (those rubber type for jar lid removal) pad to help .

Give that a try.

okay, I tried that.. to no avail. however is does seem tighter near the top. there is a small gap around the rest of it, if that makes any sense. the bezel does unscrew
