Help with identification and data

#1 Post by Borjans » Sat Aug 19, 2017 12:17 am

Hello to the vintage watch admirers.
Let me say few words first please. I am here, obviously, because of my lack of knowledge, and because I own a few interesting watches, which I don`t know much about, and would appreciate any help, meaning origins of the watch, where it is made, manufacturer, approximately year of production, possibly value. Some of them have sentimental value for me, some of them have real life interesting stories from WW2 etc. Anyway, any help I would appreciate very much.

First watch I got from grandgranfather, and he got it while he was imprisoned in German camp during WW2. As far as I could find out, it is Swiss made, and according to some info, over 140 years old. It has a small damage on dial unfortunately, at the digit of 8. On the inside, I could recognize four letters, hasf, or hsaf. That is all I could say about it. It is in working condition.

Second one is obviously Swiss made by Longines, but that is all I know about it. It is in working condition, I could not open the back to take the pictures of mechanism, without the right tools. Any info would mean a lot.

I am from small provincial place in Serbia, if any of you came across and finds him/herself here, are more than welcome to look the watches in person, and have a taste of domestic food and plum schnaps. Cheers. :)
