Recent Acquisitions Questions
Hi. New guy here. I've included pictures of a couple of Gruen Precision ladies' watches that I picked up a couple of months ago. Could anyone help in dating these? Any other insights would also be greatly appreciated. Also, I've read quotes for getting a watch serviced that ranged from $25 to $400. What is a reasonable number and can anyone recommend someone? I'm in Cheyenne, Wyoming so, maybe the Denver area? Thanks.

Re: Recent Acquisitions Questions
Hi there and welcome,
what you have there is a 1952 "All Star M" and a 1932 "Plymouth". Nice watches, both missing in my collection

Re: Recent Acquisitions Questions
Thanks Barney! That's terrific information. Would you happen to know what they originally retailed for? Or, for that matter, what a collector such as yourself might value them at today? I understand the 307 movement is said to be rare and its case, to me, is a nice example of art deco styling. And the 275 All Star M, of course, has the 14K case going for it but, values I've seen seem to be all over the place. Thanks again.

Re: Recent Acquisitions Questions
Rod,
the "All Star M" did cost $65 as an introductory offer in September and October, from November 1952 on the price was $71.50.
The Plymouth did cost $49.75.
You should be able to get probably double the price nowadays.

Barney,
Thank you very much. The depth of your knowledge is impressive. Do these watches belong in your collection?

I don't think the PM feature is functional for me yet. If you email me at Wynot307@aol.com maybe we can work something out.
