Despite what appears to be a 179 marking on the case, the movement in your watch is another 10 1/2 ligne caliber, the 807.

John,

Did you forget to eat your Wheaties this morning :?:

Definitely a cal 179. ;)

Hi. A bit of an impulse but any thoughts on what I just bought for my wife? :? :?: This will arrive some time in the future (don't get me started about the eBay global shipping scam to Canada) and am anxious to get it serviced, buffed and read form my wife's wrist.

Ahhah! So it was you who got that one. I was watching it too. Glad it went to someone who would appreciate it!

Anyone know something about this watch? It is a vintage Gruen, I believe it is a 60's model 511? It has American Airlines spelled out, it says it is water and shock resistant and anti-magnetic on the back, and it has what appears to be a judges gavel just under the 12 on the dial, it is a precision 17 jewel, with a unique 6 and 9, and radium hands and numeral marks.

Can you post a picture? Maybe somebody can ID it without a picture, but it never hurts (and we like seeing them).
