Gruen wristwatch forums - gone

#1 Post by JackW » Tue Apr 16, 2013 6:33 am

The Gruen watch forums are gone. There was a lot of great contributions on that site, including my own.

Also, does anyone knows how to contact the user that went by 'timeticker'? or Jenneke?

It’s a real shame that the Forum closed!
Gruen collectors, both old and new, have lost a fantastic source of information

I was shocked when I saw this! Jack I have mailing addresses for Jeneke and others from the contest. I will mail her and other with this forum as our base contacts for now.

I'm on the road with the camper, haven't checked my mail but surely if this was financial I would have chipped in or taken the reins.

Wow, that was rather abrupt.

That is not funny

Hope that a lot of info can be saved and be available again for the Gruen fans. If there is some group efford needed, I am in!

Total surprise to me as well. I only found out today reading the mail from Jack. I agree that the key thing is to make sure the information build over the years doesn't get lost the same way that the all original Gruen information got destroyed in the 60' ironic

I'm not an IT guy so maybe a completely stupid question, but is there no way the information from the orginal Forum can be "transferred" to this Forum?

I hope the resources can be saved. Information is so valuable but so hard to compile from scratch in this hobby. :(

Let's hope that MikeB will find a way to save much of the information stored on that site and possibly get some of it moved over here. I tried a bit with Google caching today but its somewhat of a painful process... I AM glad to see many of the regulars from that site over here though!
