Have not seen one of these unmarked either. The Alpina Gruen Gilde was selling the watches here in Germany under the Alpina brand, but the ones I have seen were marked as such. It is an official Weber case (AW-Logo inside) and the MENNER marking at the outside could indicate the seller. There was a Jeweler named Menner in Stuttgart until 1932.
That's a new one to me as well. Never seen the AW logo, but the SN also says Weber. I've seen every permutation of dial, case and movement with mixes of the Gruen and Alpina logos, but never totally unmarked. And I think that's the first totally unmarked Gruen movement that I can recall seeing. And I agree, Menner must have been the retailer. But it's also strange that they didn't request a Menner logo in the dial.
Real men wear small watches.
