Time Hill in High Resolution

#1 Post by MikeTheWatchGuy » Tue Feb 07, 2017 1:55 pm

Yesterday I received a box in the mail containing a stack of high-quality, large sized photos of Time Hill, both inside and out. These are amazing images that I've not seen previously. A generous rare book dealer donated them and I'm elated to be able to pass them along to you!

It's going to take some time to get them all processed and uploaded. My initial scans resulted in each image being roughly 100 MB. I used my arsenal of image processing tools to clean them up a bit and compress them slightly. They're down to under 20MB per image.

You'll find them located on the Rare Time Hill High Resolution Photos page on GruenWristwatches.

A gallery will appear at the bottom of that page soon.... my upload speed is ssslllooowwww. I expect to have the first dozen or so completed within the hour. In the meantime, enjoy these low resolution versions of a few of the photos you'll find in the gallery!

Accounting?

I still kick myself for not taking the time to visit Time Hill when I was in Cincinnati about 7 years ago.

I was thinking something similar. I THINK there's a line of "stamps" on the desk, ready for stamping "PAID" on invoices.

Does anyone else believe there's a sculpture of a skull on the desk? (perhaps another indicator of accounting? )

I'm posting the high resolution version of these 2 photos on the GW site. Please let me know if you have trouble with that page. The photos posted there now are over 400 MB in total. Wondering if I should make a quicker loading page with lower resolution versions of the photos.

Those telephones look like they were designed by a Steampunk artist.

I have completed the edits, crops, straightens, etc and the final image count is 66!

You'll find them in 2 galleries now, on the same page. The first one has all the images sized to about 1920x1140 pixels.

The second one has some of the images in a large 5000x5000 pixels.

These include Time Hill under construction, scans of negatives (the winter pictures), postcards and more!

Yes, I have duplicates. There are actually 2 different photos when you see a duplicate.

Enjoy!

Good eyes... that photo is from one of the postcards that was included in the photos. You'll find both the front and back scans in the gallery. Attached is the backside of that postcard.

I get chills looking at the photos of the workers in the factory... high ceilings and large windows in the winter in Cincinnati must have made for some very COLD working conditions! Everyone is wearing heavy clothing.
