please help identify this watch

#1 Post by Tank » Mon Oct 02, 2017 7:27 pm

Hello all,
I purchased this last week and can't find it in any of the advertisements online. I need a new crystal, (there is a bad chip in it at the 11:00 marker.) It closely resembles a Lakeview, but isn't an autowind. The case style is 971.
Thanks,
Allen

I think this is the non Autowind version of Strap 954 which originally comes with the 462SS.
It must have existed, it was advertised in 1957 by Zale's, does not say anything about Autowind:

Unfortunately there was no name mentioned.
The other possibilty is that someone married the back and movement from Strap 924 (1956, no name either) and the bezel from Strap 954.

Thank you Barney,
When I saw this case style only on autowinds, I suspected it might be a combination of sorts, though it looks like it could still be an unnamed model. Either way I love the watch, it cleaned up nicely and runs well. Now I have to figure out what crystal to get.
Thanks again.

This is a round crystal, so just get the fitting diameter and don't go for extra flat due to the sweep second hand.
