Found a Bulova design patent what might be interesting for Bulova collectors:

US design Patent D 84496 applied 21. October 1930, granted on 23. June 1931 to William Scheibel, who assigned the patent to Bulova.

"The dominant features (…) are shown in full lines" means: the quintessence of the design is the bezel with the word "UNIVERSITY" interrupted by Roman numbers XII and VI.

I knew already, that Bulova made a Piping Rock look-alike. But with such a bezel? Has anybody seen such a variation?

Regards

Martin

Not for the watch, but for the bezel design. I doubt it ever made it to production.

Nice find though.
