Bulova 1973 "classic" 23 - what model ?

#1 Post by Proby01 » Mon May 23, 2016 8:31 am

Hi everyone, I just purchased from a web seller a Bulova 1973 (identification : N3) that he calls "Classic 23", very nice oval shape, a day date, good appearance.. it uses the caliber 11AOACB which seems to be the last in-house Bulova made mechanical/automatic. the S/N on the back is F423783.
I have searched the web and it seems that the model 23 has been manufactured, in many different versions, until the mid 60's.. does anyone have any ideas therefore what could be the MODEL of this one ?
thanks in advance
regards
Roby

The early 70s models (that lacked the tuning fork but had this exact case) were called "President". With the day and date layout, plus the tuning fork logo, I'm not sure if it retained the "President" moniker. They did simply have "Bulova 23" as model names, so that's often a default for some until they can find an ad to corroborate a name.
