My preferred ebay technique is to hang out on the bottom and wait for something edible to filter down to where I can grab it. Most often a big fish swoops in and swallows up my dinner just as it's within reach. The latest case:

A sweet little model 220 was hiding in a lot of three. No huge banners for No pics of the movement or stampings. Just the kind of watch that might go unnoticed long enough to be mine. In the last minute 6 bidders, 3 with red stars, jump on my meal The winner leaves chuckling about the $110 bargain they just got. I whimper and console myself by sending off the payment for my new $22 Thin Thin "27" B and $27 Sycamore.

eBay is a unpredictable place. I hunt in the bottom, the middle and if it's something exceptional pops up at the top.
I honestly think most vintage American watches are undervalued.
I just think about what it would cost to make an equivalent quality piece in today's world.
Of course the junkers pop up and go for way to much. It takes some time to learn what to buy and what to skip.
The problem I have is I try to save too many of them. Lol.

I'm using weird techniques to find stuff that other don't find and I'll leave it at that :)
