Just arrived: 1955 Elgin Everest

I picked up a really nice example of the Elgin Everest. The seller advertised it as NOS. Obviously it wasn't, but I think it was worn just a few times and forgotten in a drawer.

The dial is something else design wise. It is divided into 4 quadrants, with engraved lines angled to the center. It gives off a nice effect, where depending upon your viewing angle, two squares of the dial are brighter than the others. Additionally, the domed glass crystal nicely magnifies the dial as well.

The Everest is part of the "Elgin 19" line, and accordingly uses the 19 jewel, 681 movement. The case number is 5742 and the watch is 10k gold filled.
