Incoming late 30s early 40s

#1 Post by liveinthefens » Tue May 15, 2018 6:03 am

Bottom feeding wins again. :D

A nice clean looking example.
The seller had it at collection only and most people would not look any further, but if they had they would have seen that the seller would post.
Bagged it for a song and cannot wait for it to arrive.
Am I right in my dating?

Will post more photos when it arrives.

Model 4610. First appears in the 1942 catalog released in fall of 1941. The square markers may be raised, or just gilded.

I really like that one - mind you, I'm fond of the whole 1942 line - but its really cool. In fact I ALMOST wore that one today bur opted for my 4802 instead.

Its here, Turns out the movement dates to 1944.

A 21 jewel 559 Movement

GeneJockey the markers are gilded, on this one and as you can see the face is very clean.
Thanks also for the ad, and as I thought in my humble opinion it looked better without the expanding strap I changed it for something that it may have come with.
There is a very small amount of brassing to the lower lug on the leading edge.
I have also given the hands a clean.

Very pleased with it looks very cool.
Enjoy the photos.

Sweet piece.

I very much like the extra "links" of the lugs. The extension/guard/thingies. First time seeing such a design...
