Elgin model ID

#1 Post by inatime » Sun Dec 03, 2017 1:36 pm

Haven't been able to locate any ads or catalog excerpts for this watch and wondering if someone might help ID it. The 10/0 - 7 jewel movement dates it to 1929. Two-tone 14k gold fill Wadsworth case.

Thanks. I had originally dismissed that model when looking through the catalog pages under the Elgin forum because of the movement is different and the the catalog didn't mention the model being 2-tone. However zooming into the catalog pic I can see the engraving. Seems you might be right.

Well , my catalog description says 15 Jewel 10/0 but the movement could have been replaced years ago. The catalog does mention the two tone case though.

I thought a picture might help.

I think I'm losing it. I could have sworn that said " two tone" . Oh well , I did find a " 201 " and that one has the 7 jewel movement.

This model came up once before. With the 7-jewel movement, the closest match (and maybe the correct match) would be Touchdown 201.

Thanks all. My memory is lapsing. I remember your forum posting Adam and your listing. I passed on it at the time so when I saw one come up again I bid on it. I got to check the numbers but I'm pretty sure it's not the same one. :o I also need to go through postings more thoroughly. Thanks for finding the previous post.
