Info on this perfex automatic with power reserve(lathin)

#1 Post by stryfox » Sat Feb 28, 2015 6:05 pm

I was able to get this one running. I got it in a lot of stuff I bought.
Anyone have any history information on it?
I searched and found little.

I did some searching on lathin watch company and still haven't found much.
Anyone?

The only thing I can tell you it's a Felsa 699 movement. I hope this helps.

Felsa 699 that helps! Thank you.
That gave me some more info on Google.
I dismantled it only enough to oil and get it running. I did not do a full service as I don't know all the ins and outs of this movement. I'm mostly an elgin guy.
The movement seems to be high quality.
What I could find with searching felsa 699 is the felsa 6** movements were the first full rotor design that wound in both directions. The Rolex at the time only wound in one direction.
The 699 was the same movement style with a reserve indicator.
I did a le coultre for a friend that had a power reserve but was a bumper. (That was supposed to be the first auto wrist with power reserve) I offered to buy that one but it was his uncles so he was attached to it.
I will do some more research as I like to know about them not just wear them.

Well I revised this one. I posted it a few years back.
I did a service on it and cleaned it up.
The dial is really cool. The hands are not the best condition. I’ll keep an eye out for a better set.

Would it be sacrilege to make these hands black? I can’t really see them well being gold with lume on this dial.
Black with lume?
Opinions?

Awesome watch. Black hands with lume would be cool. What did you dismantle and oil just enough to get it going in the beginning? Certain jewels?

Yes first time around I only did what I needed to to get it running. Probably just the balance wheel and palette fork. I honestly don’t remember but I had it tagged not serviced/running.
I have gained experience since then and wanted to wear it so I serviced it first this time around. So far all day moving around the power reserve has stayed at 44 I’ll see how much it runs down over night.
I cleaned up the case a bit and put a new strap on it. Now I kind of like it. Except the poor looking hands. They wouldn’t clean up but I did re lume them.

Ok, thanks. Cool watch. I want one. That power reserve is neat. Can't wait to see the new hands.

Sorry for the poor fluorescent lighting in this next picture but I’m going to run it for a while with the hands like this and see if I like it.
