That is interesting too.

Will do some research.

Movement photo please
Well many companies stated that prior to Incabloc (1933) Indeed Breguet 'parachute' 1790
BUT I agree would love to see a movement picture.

Hi Adam,

yes I know, I find shock absorbers in the context of early wrist watches interesting. I really want to see which one this is.

Heres a couple of pictures of the movement

You can plainly see that is a 6 jewel, and not a 7!

The similarities are mind boggling.

Hopefully Adam can uncover what this was. I think it has to be something, because they're so similar in decoration and basic in movement there had to be something they were trying to accomplish to keep up with something...

I just acquired this interesting Albuse watch and promptly started searching for info when I came across Barry's post here. There isn't alot of info out there but I have spotted a few other examples. All have very nice looking engraved and lumed dials, and the cases are all quite richly engraved too. All but two I've seen have had six jewel movements, this one being one of the two I've seen with 15j. The movement is in good shape but in need of a general servicing.

The bad and the good...
the bad: You see that the dial numerals don't quite fit within the bezel frame because it isn't an Albuse case;
the good: The case is a Gruen 'strap 209" wgf in excellent condition! I'm now searching for a 705 movement to make it whole again.
WooHoo! :D

Happy 4th everybody!

That is a FANTASTIC face (dial) - could be Illinois
Its a lovely watch
Interestingly, yours is marked 'REINFORCED' - not shock protection - but I suspect same

TRULY, I will do some research - forgot before (sorry)

Adam...would be great if you could find some history on this company. I'm coming up blank so far.
